Marilyn Wheeler’s legal journey is rooted in a deep family tradition, dating back to when her mother, Peggy, worked alongside her uncle, Edward J. Dobreff, at the firm Dobreff & Dobreff. Marilyn built a distinct career path, earning her degrees from Central Michigan University and later a Master’s Degree from Grand Valley State University. She spent 35 dedicated years as an educator in Zeeland, Michigan, before retiring from teaching. At the suggestion of her cousin, David Dobreff, who had established Northern Michigan Elder Law PLC in Charlevoix, Marilyn decided to “get the team back together.” She relocated to Traverse City to join the practice as a Legal Assistant. While her core focus involves expertly handling estate and trust administrations, her professional interest has expanded to support David on complex litigation matters. Together, Marilyn and David are committed to continuing their parents’ legacy within the Michigan legal community.
