Marilyn Wheeler is a Legal Assistant and Billing Specialist at Northern Michigan Elder Law, PLC. She was born and raised in Sterling Heights, Michigan. After graduating from Stevenson High School in 1982, Marilyn was accepted to Central Michigan University where she earned her B.S. Degree in Education with a math major and an English minor. In 1986, Marilyn began her teaching career with Zeeland Public Schools in Zeeland, Michigan (south of Grand Rapids, MI). During her 35 years with Zeeland Schools, Marilyn taught middle school math and ELA, earned her Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis in math from Grand Valley State University, and was an adjunct professor at Aquinas College in Grand Rapids. In 2021, Marilyn retired from her work with middle schoolers. It was at that time Northern Michigan Elder Law offered her the opportunity to join their team in Traverse City, Charlevoix, and East Jordan as a legal assistant and billing specialist. She has now moved into Administrations – helping families navigate the legal system after the passing of a loved one. Marilyn is now a permanent resident of Traverse City, Michigan with her two golden retrievers – Max and Harper.
